Fact of the Day: Italian Pinatas

Like many things from Hispanic culture, pinatas were introduced to the New World by Spain. The tradition was common in Europe and the word pinata comes from the Italian word pignatta.

We were actually taught that they originated from China and the Spanish got the idea from them.
