Fact of the Day: Jurassic Turtles

While the modern species are more recent, turtles as a biological order have been around since the late Jurassic era about 157 million years ago.

They really have no changed that much and can live a long life. Let's hope humans don't interfere any further with their decline

I've seen fossil turtles ~ Eocene not Jurassic ~ on a dig in the Bridger Basin of Wyoming. Way cool!
