Fact of the Day: McDonald's Women

McDonald's "founder" Ray Kroc originally opposed to hiring women in the first waves of McDonald's restaurants. He believed they were unreliable workers, and that they would probably flirt with the males there.

  1. Kroc was more than just a bit of a jerk in many ways. And "Crook" would have been a better name considering what he did to the real "McDonald's" founders.

  3. I agree with Mitchell is Moving too, based on what I heard about Kroc's antics with the original founders. That behavior was really messed up. And to assume that all women flirt is just sad. Hugs...

  8. As I would choke on a bloody MacDonald's anything, I really
don't care but maybe, just maybe, a bit what we now would call
    sexist!

  9. Lucky for the women back then. He lacked morals and decency, so he's not one I would have wanted to work for anyway.
