Photo: Craft Revival

My wife Daisy been wanting to try crafts again and now she is going all over the place with stuff. I told her to stick to trying to make paracord bracelets until she masters it, I'd rather her be good at one thing that be awful at everything to the point she quits again.

  1. I agree Adam.........tell Daisy to perfect one craft and then she can start on the next.

  2. If I waited to perfect one craft I'd never be able to move on.

  3. Sometimes you just have to try your hand at all of them to see what clicks. As long as she's not spending an obscene amount on her crafting, I'd say let her be free to explore her talents.

  4. I feel the same way as Theresa does. Sometimes we don't know what's a good fit for us. Trying different things is a way to figure it out.

  5. You know, Adam, sometimes you try something and you decide it's not for you. I had this fantasy of learning to hook rugs when I retired. Two of my sisters hook, and I come from a long line of really good hookers. My youngest sister set me up with supplies and really quality tools to work with. I gave it a shot, but I was miserable doing it and lousy at it. I finally had to admit it to myself and let the dream go. Life is too short to spend it mastering something you don't enjoy just because you spent some money on it. As long as one doesn't go overboard, it's okay to experiment. Perhaps some of Daisy's unwanted crafting supplies can go to Little K and Iz or a school or a nursing home or even Goodwill. Just my two cents worth ~ hope you don't take offense!

  6. Jack of all trades master of none, I fall into that category. As long as she is enjoying herself she will settle on one she likes best.

  9. I think if Daisy wants to try out different things it's a good idea, the important thing is to enjoy doing craft work/projects.

    All the best Jan
