Photos: My Grandfather Blair

Due to recent ancestry findings, it reminded me to ask my cousin Blair to find me pictures of our grandfather Blair whom she was named after. I was the youngest child of the youngest child, so he died over a decade before I was born. Due to crappy family management of memories, I had never even seen a picture of him until now. This is him in 1945 posing with a golf club. My dad would be born over a decade later.
The rest of them are of my Uncle Ray's (my cousin Blair's father) wedding. Grandpa Blair didn't live long enough to see my dad get married. He's aged quite a bit by this time.
Standing beside him is my grandmother Dorothy, but we called her Granny Dot. By the time of my childhood, Granny Dot made Grandpa Blair here look youthful. So it's a bit strange to see her a lot younger.
My cousin Blair said my father was in these pictures. I always remember my dad being "old" but I figured it out quite easily. I remembered seeing a high school photo of him with really goofy hair and there he is standing next to Grandpa Blair.
Does make me want to take a time machine just for this moment.

  2. Very nice Adam, it's always good to look back on family pictures like this, you will notice family resemblances and see people sometimes that you don't remember.

My Grandma (Moms Mother) we always called Granny Dot.

  11. Hey, that wasn't really goofy hair. That was simply how hair grew back then!
