Photos: NC State Zoo Black Bears

At the NC State Zoo there were black bears. Two of them were there, and they got close to one another as we were looking.
One was cleaning the other one's ear, I think.

  5. I don't have to go to the zoo to see black bears because I have several that roam around my neighborhood at night!

  7. They are really neat to see in this atmosphere, I don't think I'd want to run into one while out and about. One was spotted in the intersection one house away from ours.

  8. I like bears but they don't mix well with people and should be left alone.

  10. We came across one on our horseback riding through the Smoky Mountains. It was trying to steal the horse feed so the workers had to bang on pots and pans to get him to run away. Was kind of neat to see it our in the wilderness, but I sure wouldn't want to find one trying to rifle through my garbage bins!
