Photos: Replacing the Bedroom Furniture Hardware

This is just one piece to a whole room set. But we got these from the previous homeowners, and they certainly are old but still useful. The knobs and pullbars were certainly showing their age. Two knobs were bent as well which I hated looking at all the time.

So I decided to replace them all. While I had trouble staining the wood filler perfectly, it was time to say goodbye to the old.
The new hardware are in an aged bronze finish.
I think the old might have been aged satin nickel perhaps.
But overall I'm pretty happy that project is over with.

  1. Nice choices! I always enjoy checking out the fixtures section in a hardware store, even if I have no project.

  2. New hardware is always a nice improvement. This look like it's a solid bedroom set. Have you thought about sanding the pieces down and refinishing them, or painting them a new colour?

  7. Very nice choice. It's amazing what a simple change like this can do to a piece of furniture. I added antique brass ring pulls to a contemporary, box-like (handle-less) piece of furniture. What a transformation.

  8. Your furniture looks really nice. Most times, the old furniture is better built than the knew. I like it.
