Question: Did You Ever Have a Real Pool in Your Yard?

I really wished I had either a above-ground or below-ground pool as a kid. But now that I'm older, I certainly don't want to deal with all the responsibilities that a pool requires. But it still would be nice to swim anytime I want during spring and summer.

Did you ever have a pool?

No, we went to swim in the river like everyone else!

Nope! Never knew anyone that did either. I did live near a public wave pool though. It had a cool big slide called the Thunder Run.

No, but I grew up within walking distance of the ocean, so that's where we swam. My parents put in a pool after my sister and I left home for college though, which always made me a little angry.

No, we don't, we just think it is a lot of work to maintain a pool, and I never like to be in the water!

Never did, but loved swimming as a kid it would have been a dream!

Yep - pools are everywhere in home backyards in outer suburbs of the cities. All family members have large in-ground pools but the work involved with cleaning etc and the costs are really high here in Australia - Can't really understand if you (here) live near a beach you need a pool. Keeping up appearances, maybe???
Also make sure you don't have trees/shrubs close that lose leaves - that constitutes a constant work load.

Oh yes - I live close to an excellent surfing beach so no pool for me.

No. I've never had any desire for a pool. I can't swim anyway. :)

Never had a pool of any sort until this last summer when the daughter bought a blow up above ground pool for the wife. I'm not sure if it will survive the storage until next summer but this is the closest to a real pool that we have ever had...I don't think that I want the responsibility of a real pool.

No, but we were lucky enough to have neighbors who did. They allowed us to use it whenever we wanted. We don't have one now either, but my neighbors here do too and we have an open invite to use it whenever we want.

I had an above ground Esther Williams pool growing up and it was a lot of fun with many happy memories. Once I got older, we swam in it less but I still had to clean it. Later, it was a big expense so I would never own one unless I was filthy rich

Had an above ground for some years when I was a kid. We had a beautiful inground at our house in Connecticut and loved every minute of it.

No, never. We barely had enough room for us, let alone a pool :)

It would be fun to own a pool as long as I also had the money to hire someone to clean it.
