Fact of the Day: DomiNick's Pizza

While the Domino's Pizza company was started by Tom Monaghan, he originally acquired the original location from a previous owner under the restaurant name DomiNick's. The original location was started by Dominick DiVarti. They made the name change after Monaghan was told by DiVarti that he could no longer use the original name after becoming successful.

We even have Domino's Pizza here in Spain. However, I haven't given my business to one in years. Monaghan is ultra-conservative and has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to pro-lifers among other of his "moral" causes. He DID, however, retire and sell off almost all his ownership in Domino's, so maybe I can try their pizza.

We have also Domino's Pizza, and they sell nothing like a 'pizza'. They are terrible!

Sure popular now, as they are all over.

yeah, it's been quite some time since that happened. Pizza owners sadly are super-Republican most of the time...

I never knew that about Domino's Pizza, I know just recently it was a big deal on the TV commercials that they were dropping "pizza" from their name thus doing a name change from Domino's Pizza to Domino's.

Domino's flows better than DomiNick's, imho, so it all turned out well.
