Fact of the Day: Lutheran Phillip and the Catholic Mary

Philip, Duke of Palatinate-Neuburg was once considered to be a possible husband for Mary Tudor, daughter of King Henry VIII. Despite their religious differences (especially considering how loyal Mary was to the Catholic faith) the two were quite fond of each other. However the match didn't happen as King Henry VIII thought that since Phillip was a cousin of his fourth wife Anne of Cleves, it was too much of a deal-breaker.
