Fact of the Day: Women's Fashion

Like almost anything in Western civilization, women's fashion also changed drastically during the shift between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. While it varied by time and location, generally women's dresses weren't drastically different in fabric and style than the tunics of men. However the Renaissance saw a large creation of more elegant and luxurious gowns.

Women’s fashion is changing constantly. I hope the corset never comes back in full force.

I wonder if gowns became more luxurious because fabric became more available.
