Photos: Painting the Hallways Oakwood Manor Beige

Back in winter of last year, I painted my living room the color Oakwood Manor (1095) by Benjamin Moore in Olympic One Interior Satin finish latex paint. I thought it'd take two gallons, but surprisingly enough I only used one and just a little bit of another. So I figured I had enough to paint the hallways with this gallon that was left.
The walls were just painted with a cheap flat white paint like the two spare bedrooms are as well. I'm not a big fan of flat paint. It hide imperfections but it's impossible to keep clean.
Satin finish is far more durable and here is the far hallway leading to the garage and on the flip side  to our master bedroom.
This is the before on the little hallway that connects that hallway with the two bedrooms and the living room. Same thing as before, just cheap flat white paint.
Now it's all the same color. Even though it is the same color as the living room obviously, it does look darker in these hallways. It's rather funny, how much it does change things when you change the location a tad. I don't really mind, but a fickle person might not.

Nice! I like the color. Has a richness to it. I was telling the Husband recently that the house needed painting. The walls still hold the original white flat paint

Well done Adam. We always use a satin finish easier to clean as you say. Like the neutral colours also.

Looks good! I agree about flat paint. Learned my lesson on my first house at how hard it is to keep clean. Now, we stay away from it.

I love the change as the light changes. One of the things I hope for in a paint. What a difference the beige and contrasting woodwork make!

I'm not crazy about flat paint either and we've picked a satin finish for the new house.
I like the color you picked.

Nothing like a fresh coat of paint to make a place look nice. Like you, I'm not a fan at all of flat paint!

Your hard work is paying off, Adam. Your hallways look much better. When I'm ready to start painting, I'll remember your suggestions.
