Fact of the Day: Mother Roosevelt

Sara Delano Roosevelt was alive when her son was elected to be president. Thus (after the passage of Women's suffrage as well) she was the first mother to vote for her son as President of the United States.

Photos of "THE RED HEN" restaurant have gone World Wide.
Cute little place.................business there would be now booming.

The resemblance between mother and son is remarkable.

My grandmother MacBeath was a suffragette in Prince Edward Island. Women got the right to vote there on May 3, 1922. Sara Delano Roosevelt must have been so proud to vote for her son,
