Photo: Smithsonian Big Bicycle

I saw this old timey bicycle at the  Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Imagine trying to ride one of these bikes. Doesn't look so easy to me.

Yes, "pennyfarthing" bicycles are notoriously difficult to ride, for obvious reasons lol!

Ha, ha, that is why the Wright Brothers had to come up with a better bicycle! They designed and sold bikes before they did all their work with airplanes, you know! They were so busy, it should make us feel ashamed!

We have a Penny Farthing Race here in Tasmania not far from where we live - they ride bikes like the one in the photo.

I imagine it takes a lot of practice to learn how to ride that!
