Photos: Washington Monument

After the Holocaust Museum, time to see museums was running short, so monuments were the next thing to see. Since the Washington Monument was right in front of our faces, it was the next thing to visit.
Quite a bit of walk to get to this one. It's all gated now, so you really can't get to it that close up. I blame Spider-Man.
I thought the reflection pool was close-by but it's much further down than you'd think.
But when you reach the Lincoln Memorial, from this angle, they look very close together.
But I'm glad we got to see it.

Too bad you can't get up close anymore, changing times.

I remember being there when I was in High School and we got to walk up to the top.

This brings back memories of a DC trip with the kids - we were lucky enough to go up the Washington Monument.

Glad you got to see it, too, Adam. I was really amazed at how far the reflection pool was from the memorial. lol...quite a little walk. Someone said if it was any closer you would not be able to see the whole monument reflected in it. I guess that makes sense.

I climbed it a number of times. Can't believe it's all wrapped up now.
