Fact of the Day: Lucy Webb Hayes and the Washington Monuement

One contribution First Lady Lucy Webb Hayes made to American society was that she helped advocate for the completion of the Washington Monument.

I had to go learn more about Lucy Webb Hayes, after becoming curious by your fact of the day, Adam. She was an amazing woman, akin to Eleanor Roosevelt.

A very interesting and forward thinking woman. Now their presidential china featured American wildlife and plants, and I saw a beautiful oyster plate from the china. It's at the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian museums. Perhaps you and Daisy saw it.
