Fact of the Day: Samurai Numbers

Like the knights of Europe, the samurai of Japan were just a small chunk of the population. Less than ten percent of the country's residents in any period of Japanese history qualified to be in any stage of the samurai class.

Cool, I remembered when I was young, the TV show from Japan called "Samurai" was very popular though, LOL!

Sure would be nice right now to have a samurai or two to close down the rowdy outdoor party next door.

I visited a samurai castle in Japan. At the top of the wooden structure, there was a special "moon viewing" room. Apparently, that was a very popular activity among the samurai.
