Fact of the Day: Chicago Globetrotters

When the Harlem Globetrotters became a team in 1926, they were originally based in Chicago. They moved the team in 1928 to New York.

  3. They were formed in an era when most basketball players were white, so "Harlem" was a shorthand way of letting everyone know they were black.
