Photos: Our AirBnB

Due to the rush of things, I only have two photos I took of our AirBnB which was a room in a loft building in a nice quiet (and very safe) DC neighborhood called Palisades. For those who don't know, AirBnBs are kind of like the Ubers of lodging. Ubers replace the idea of taxis, and AirBnBs replaced the idea of hotels. Typically it's much more inexpensive, but there's no real staff to help you. We had our keys left in a lock box and we never actually met the owners.
But it was a nice little room with a big bed, a small bed, and a couch. It had a patio but we didn't use it. We liked that it had a washer and dryer. I liked the privacy of it. One thing about hotels is that I'm always a little paranoid about some idiot in the hall doing something stupid that night. I would totally book one again when we travel.

  1. I have heard mostly good things about AirBnB. My dad had some issues in Hawaii with one but nothing major.

  2. While I've heard of this I've never booked and Airbnb, sounds like a good one though.

  3. We love Airbnb. The one we rented in California even offered 4 bikes that we were able to ride down to the beach. The ones in London had washers and dryers, which came in handy when we under packed our warm weather clothes and needed to wash our jeans for more days of wear.

  10. That's good to hear you had a good experience. I've often wondered about them. They're probably cheaper than B&B's.

  11. We like hotels for the services provided and the available staff. But for a long stay (a month) we like to rent apartments. Although we've never used AirBnB, our friends and family regularly do.

  12. My daughters and I stayed in one of these rentals in Michigan . It was an entire house to ourselves. Way better than a hotel. Super clean. It had a washer and dryer also. Glad you liked your Airbnb. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
