Photo: Spartanburg Police Taxi

While walking around downtown, I easily spotted this "police taxi" which is a clever way for the city to deter DUIs. Though anyone with sense to notice it probably wouldn't drink and drive anyway.

Wow! Never seen that, but very clever! I do have to admit that South Carolina is also the first place I saw a Police Stingray on the highway pulling someone over. Happy Sunday! RO

Kind of like a designated driver.

This is such a good idea and I wish more cities would do this.

Weird idea.
Drunks being driven home by the police.
I think staying sober would be a better idea or catching
a taxi if "under the weather" after a boozy night on the town.

I am sure the police of Spartanburg have plenty to do without being taxi drivers for drunks.

Great ideal but I have to wonder how this would actual take on...
How much will they be loosing in find revenue from drunk driving.

That is a GREAT idea!!!!

I guess everyone misunderstood, it's not really a taxi. The car is showing that you can either go home in a taxi, or the much more expensive (in consequences) ride with the police.

If it deters DUI drivers, then the idea is a keeper.

Thanks for the clarification but as usual - noting your reply time and the last three comments. People JUST DON'T READ.

Another case of just wanting to see their names on a blog!
