Fact of the Day: English Yellow

The modern English word yellow morphed out of the Old English word geolu. Both words are related to other Germanic words which are based on the same root word which was also related to what led to the creation of the English word gold as well.

That must be a Van Gogh painting. He did use a lot of yellow.

I like brownish yellows, which is almost gold.
