Fact of the Day: Blind Iowa Guns

While previously untrue before 2011, Iowa lets blind people have guns via a permit. This also includes those who are totally blind, not just partially.

  1. Yes, I was reading about this. Because gun ownership is considered to be a right (not just a privilege), the state feels they cannot deny that right to anyone. Driving a car, on the other hand, is widely acknowledged to be a privilege, not a right, so at least blind people aren't driving down the street too.

    1. A blind person driving a car "a la a stage coach" with all guns blazing! Still one eyed bigots and tea party adherents might just get shot or run over - now that would be a blessing for the World.
The thought is unbelievable unless you were an American!
