Fact of the Day: Huge Fish

The scientific name for whales, dolphins, and porpoises is Cetacea which comes from the Latin word cetus which means "whale". The Latin word came from the Greek word ketos meaning "huge fish" in modern English.

"Huge fish". Of course, they're mammals, but the ancient Greeks probably didn't know that.
