Fact of the Day: Brackish Water

While more salty than fresh water, but with far less in salt content than ocean water, brackish water is between the two types of water. It is commonly found where the salt water and fresh water meet, in swamps, and certain seas.

We have a number of tidal rivers near my family home in Nova Scotia where there is constant mixing of sea water and fresh water, so I am quite familiar with brackish water. The habitat is full of life.
