Photo: Little R and the Chuck E. Cheese

I didn't see this photo until the other day of my 2nd youngest niece Little R and Chuck E. Cheese from her sister's birthday party. Her cousin Little K screamed in horror two years ago but Little R seems to be okay with the mouse.

I'd like to scream in horror seeing it as well. That place gives me nightmares. So glad my girls outgrew the Chuck E Cheese phase. Cute photo though!

My kids went through their Chuck E. Cheese phase (like most kids, I guess). All I can say is...I hope that, by the time grandkids come along, it isn't such a thing anymore.

Chuck E. Cheese still gives me the shudders.

Our oldest gr-daughter hated Chucky at age 4. By the next year, she looked him eye to eye.

Every child handles these things in their own way.

Little R is darling, Adam! You've shown many photos of nieces and nephews at Chuck E. Cheese. I love the photos of your nieces and nephews, but Chuck E. Cheese always upsets me. I haven't mentioned this before, but I'm from Aurora, you see, and I've had to deal with too many horrific events as a second and third grade teacher in Aurora. The killing of four employees in Chuck E. Cheese in Aurora was one of them, and I had to deal with deal with sobbing students who frequented Chuck E. Cheeses and knew the employees who were murdered. Chuck E. Cheese. JonBenét Ramsey, Columbine, the Aurora theatre shootings, these were all things that impacted my kiddos DIRECTLY. Some days it's all too much. This is one of them. I don't mean to be a downer, it just is what it is. The beautiful faces of your nieces and nephews give me hope, as does Daisy's smile. Keep spreading the joy, my friend!

It's ironic that what makes older children smile terrifies the slightly younger ones.
