The given name Alexander is of Greek origin which means "defender of the people".

Alexander the Great certainly left his mark on history ~ and he died so young. The mosaic illustration is wonderful!

The movie "Alexander, the Great" is a pretty good movie.
You will note that Alexander, the Great, was the first to try and subdue Afghanistan and he failed. All have failed since!

I’ve always liked that name. But I’m afraid I don’t know enough about Alexander the Great.
