Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a medical doctor before becoming an author. He strongly believed in the success of vaccines and proudly denounced the movements that are anti-vaccines.

Anti-vaxxers have been around as long as vaccines. Since smallpox being required in some Boston schools. And that was the original vaccine, in the middle 19th century.

I guess that's why he portrayed John Watson as a doctor.

Yes I knew he studied medicine, he strikes me as he was probably a very interesting person.

We could use Sir Arthur Conan Doyle today to debunk some anti-vaccine conspiracy theories. As someone who is allergic to almost every antibiotic, I am someone grateful for vaccines.

I was about to write the same thing as Fundy Blue. It’s so true isn’t it?
