Fact of the Day: Italian Ballet

Ballet originated in Italy during the Renaissance. Due to the (Italian-born) French Queen-Consort Catherine de Medici, ballet was made popular in France.

I never got the wealth and power of the Medicis until I visited Florence. What a legacy ~ to have made ballet popular.
