Fact of the Day: Second Battle of Fort Fisher

Near the end of the Civil War, Union troops had won the last battle at Fort Fisher. It protected an important naval port for the South, and by 1865 it essentially was its last real way to get things done or imported by sea. With Union control, many called it the last nail in the coffin for the CSA.
