Photo: Getting Daisy's Car Brakes Fixed

Daisy got a 2010 Toyota Corolla last year, and she just had her first issue with it. She called me at work and said she had smoke coming from under her tire. She managed to drive it to the local Goodyear place and they had to replace pretty much the whole brake system. I'm not sure what caused it, but it did come at a shock. Usually you can tell when your brakes start to break down and need to be changed. Took them about a day to get the job done (waiting on parts and everything) but Daisy luckily managed to get a ride to work from both me and her dad when she needed it.

  1. It's never nice when something goes wrong with your car - pleased it was fixed ok.
Glad that either you or her dad could give Daisy a lift to work too.

    All the best Jan

  2. I am driving a 2004 Toyota and wonder when it will start to fall apart. I love it and do not want to get another car at my age. (89) Sorry about the expense but that happens to all of us at times.

  6. My so has an older plow truck and he had the same thing happen about three weeks ago. 2 days and several hundred dollars later he was set to go. Never a fun thing when something like that happens.

  8. I'm glad that everything worked out safely for Daisy! Breaks are so necessary! Thank goodness she had you and her dad to help her getting to and from work. I had to go to Big O Tires yesterday because my tires had gotten low in the cold we've had recently. The service guys are so great! They top off my tires for free. I'm going to have to buy new tires in the very new future!

  11. I have dealt with the same Goodyear shop for thirty odd years. They treat me like family and even give me an employee discount. A 2010 Toyota has many, many good miles left. I tell every car I own, I'll take care of you and you take care of me. And, the Toyota got her to the dealer OK.
