Photos: Antonino Bertolo's Pizza Boiling Springs South Carolina

Antonio Bertolo's pizza is a new place in Boiling Springs, South Carolina (part of Spartanburg County) which took the spot of Pi-Squared, which was a pizza place I was not fond of. This isn't the first one of its name, as they have a really popular Greenville restaurant that's the original.

I work nearby as a paint mixer, and I had helped prepare the paint and primer when they redid the restaurant. I was glad to see it turned out looking really good. I think I recall them saying they wanted to recreate the look of the Greenville location, and from the pictures I saw, I'd say they did a great job. The place is pretty calm and quiet.
Anyway, now to the food. Daisy loves chicken wings, and she really liked hers here from what she said.
I had a small cheese pizza.
As a pizza connoisseur, I rank pizzas in two categories; fast food style and "family restaurant" style. This one feels like a bit of both, though it favors the "family restaurant" version more than pizza from Papa Johns or Pizza Hut. We went to Rapid Fire Pizza earlier this year, and the pizzas reminded me a lot of each other, but Bertolo's certainly has better bread, sauce, and cheese. I thought it was pretty good, I can see why the Greenville one has stayed strong all these years.

  3. I like the color. It has a rustic feel to it. Your pizza looks yummy. I've been seeing photos of pizza a lot lately, which can only mean it may be time for pizza and beer.

  6. I love pizza. And yes, high-elevation Rocky Mountain ski areas get a lot of snow, usually hundreds of inches a year :)

  8. The food looks great, Adam! Saturday night is pizza night at our house. I usually take a four cheese, thin crust California Pizza and load it up with goodies. It's different every week. With Friday and Sunday nights as date nights, I don't mind making pizza on Saturday night.
