Fact of the Day: Great Turkish War

In 1699, the Ottoman Empire was at war with most countries in central and Eastern Europe not allied with them. The Ottomans were defeated, and the Empire saw its first large amounts of lands lost, mostly in Hungary and Poland.

When I think of the Ottoman Empire, I think of the slaughter of the Armenians about a century ago. There has been and is so much ethnic hate. I wonder if we will ever, as humans, be able to overcome such division and hate.
