Photo: Living Golden Statue

Like one I saw years before, there was a "living statue" lady at Spartanburg's Spring Fling festival. I don't quite get it honestly, but hey whatever. I did think it was a little odd seeing her walk to her spot as we got there as soon as it started. Breaking character!

it is a strange thing to have at places like festivals.

I saw one of these one time in DC. A bit strange to see.

Must be tough to just stay still like that.

I've seen people doing this in other countries and also wondered how they could keep their positions for such a length of time. That's hard work. Interesting though.

kind of fun I guess.

People who do this I think are very talented.
I'll never forget the first one I ever saw on a Mall in Brisbane.
It was a male person who had plenty of people looking at him.
I thought why in hells name are these people looking at that statue
of a crazily dressed dummy. Then all of a sudden the dummy blinked.
I thought I was seeing things and must have jumped - others all laughed at my re-action.
I since have been told that they can do this still standing business for hours. It is an ART ????

The living statues I see are usually adorned to look entirely like metal or stone and they take a pose until someone throws money in their pot, at which time they do something clever and move into another pose. This doesn’t look quite like that.
