Photos: The Carnival Coming to Town

Every spring, a little carnival comes right next to a branch of a library. I was getting some stuff at the library about a week before, and I saw them putting part of it together. I always wonder how long it does take to get it going.
This was a few hours before the first night. We wanted to go on a Friday, but timing just didn't work out. It rained hard that weekend, so that was probably a lot of time and labor wasted on their part.
A week after they left, there was still one of the rides still out in the empty lot. Are they coming back for it? You tell me.

  9. My first husband worked for a traveling "carny" one summer when he was a teenager. When they arrived late in a town to set up, they sometimes left out half the nuts and bolts and other things when putting up the rides. I think about that every time I see a carnival, big or small.
