Photos: Dollywood's Shooting Star Drop Tower

We ended up in the "Carnival fair" part of Dollywood first which is fine by me. I don't like heights (so some rides I do not ride) and almost nothing in these areas of theme parks are that tall. This is a "drop tower" ride but more for kids. Dollywood has a much taller drop tower, and you would never see me on that. That ride is 230 feet tall (70 meters) while Shooting Star is only 30 feet tall.
I rode it three times during our two day stay. I liked it, but it wasn't my favorite. Funny enough, except for one ride, this same family rode this ride with me (my wife Daisy and my mother only rode it once) on two different days. I thought they looked familiar but it was my mom who pointed it all out.

  2. Funny that you found yourself with the same family on both days!

  3. What a coincidence! It's either that or they felt safe with you. Hmmm... 30 feet? OK, I could handle that too, but I don't like heights anymore.

  4. I would the one on the ground screaming for no reason. Hope you had a great experience.

  5. Looks like fun, Adam! I went on a parachute drop ride at Knott's Berry Farm once in California. I nearly died of fright! LOL

  6. I've been on a ride like that, but a bigger one for adults. That was probably 30 years ago? I'm too old and leery to go on rides now.
