Fact of the Day: Peach Marzipan

Because of its close heritage with almonds, peaches can actually be used in substitute to almonds to make the confection known as marzipan. Though when peaches are used in its place, they typically call it persipan.

That makes sense. Adding some almond extract to peach pies--that is what we have always done.

That is so neat, I once planted what I thought was an almond...and it grew into a peach tree.
