While I always liked him in the Street Fighter games, I didn't dig Capcom's Ryu too much in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I liked him better in Smash 4 on WiiU.
I will say, his moves are certainly truthful to the game he's based on. You got his hadoken fireballs.
And his spinning kicks. Though the controls are much simpler than they are in Ryu's home game. Which is a good thing.
His final smash is actually pretty good. They're actually two of them, depending on how far away you are from your foes. You can either give them the super uppercut punch.
Or the giant hadoken fireball, which I prefer.
Speaking of hadokens, Kirby gets the power to do so when he takes Ryu's power. If you actually input the move as it is in Street Fighter, it turns red and more powerful.
But honestly Ryu is too weak in the game. He does better in HP battles, but in battles where you have to smash someone off the screen, he's so weak. I struggled and struggled to get any wins with Ryu. Such a shame.
