I had no idea, I thought it would be Dubai or Singapore.

Busy yes, but boy do they have the staff to help. I always come in from Mexico and the staff makes this process of going through immigration and customs a breeze. I prefer this airport to any other I've flown into.

Oh cool! I thought it would've been JFK or LAX!

That's curious. Maybe it's considered a "hub" for the American South.

That doesn't surprise me at all...and I absolutely HATE traveling through this airport. It's soooo confusing!

Having been there many times, I believe it. They are very organized with their international flights though and keep you moving through customs quickly so you don't miss your connecting flight. I wish all international airports were as organized. Don't get me started on Paris Charles de Gaulle, now that one is a true nightmare! They could care less if you miss your flight and are quite rude too.

It is the "HUB" airport for the South.
All Delta flights and subsidiaries of Delta fly through this airport from inside the USA and the International flights.
Quite remarkable really............I found out this startling information way back in the 1970's. I knew my way round the terminals there even if I was blindfolded.
I would have thought that Dubai International in the U.A.E. would have taken over by now.
I am now real sure if it is the busiest airport on a 24 hour basis, but it was the busiest between noon and 2.00 pm in the 1970s.
Plus it is/was on my visits spotlessly clean - a rarity for US airports. Changi International in Singapore is by far the cleanest airport in the world......and Singapore probably the cleanest city.

I forgot - if you are on a Delta flight from JFK to LAX as an example you will fly via ATL.
Makes for a long flight. Be warned.

Surprisingly Honolulu I found to be the airport with the rudest of the rude staff.
Thank God now flights from the Australian Eastern seaboard fly directly to US mainland ports and miss HNL. Of course there are still many daily flights to HNL from Australia/New Zealand where they terminate.

I've only been to this one once. Our flight from Indiana to New York had us flying to there to catch a connecting flight over the summer. I thought it was a nice airport. Very clean and organized.
