Fact of the Day: Rosamund Clifford

King Henry II's marriage to Eleanor of Aquitaine was not a happy one, but the perhaps true love of his life was Rosamund Clifford. She was famed for her beauty but died fairly young. A legend later emerged that said the Queen had confronted her rival and made her drink poison.
