Fact of the Day: Rutabaga

Rutabaga vegetables are actually a cross between a cabbage and turnip.

This is one veggie that I have never tried. I'll have to look up recipes for them and try it in the new year.

Cross-pollination. Bees, birds, water, and wind carry the pollen of one plant (vegetable) to a different, but not too different, species of plant, and a hybrid seed, eventually a hybrid plant is the result, in this case the rutabaga.
