Fact of the Day: Miranda Moon of Uranus

One of Uranus' moons, Miranda was named after the character Miranda from William Shakespeare's The Tempest.

Cool! When I was 8 my dad taught me the planets. He knew all the moons, but I never learned them!

I wonder who gets to name all these celestial bodies. I thought the planets and moons or whatever were names after mythological gods. Then again... who came up with moon. Or earth?

Miranda is oe of the most fascinating moons in the solar system. I hope we learn more about its amazing structural features in my lifetime.
